BOGOLAN natural handmade cotton fabric
Bogolan universal known as "mud cloth",is a West African fabric handmade cotton fabric weaving narrow strips on a hand-held loom artistically stitched together, originated from Mali.
The name BOGOLANFINI comes from Bambara where
BOGO: means "EARTH or MUD",
LAN: means "WITH",
FINI: means "CLOTH".
It is dyed using fermented mud and natural plant pigments with distinctive, often greyish, brown and white, geometric patterns that hold deep cultural.
This 12th century treasure originally used by hunters shirts and women wraps useful as traditional art form practiced for centuries then found in museum collections often date to the late 19th or early 20th century, it is now extensively used for home decor, fashion and fine arts.
Its longevity care as a delicate by nature, it is best to hand wash or dry clean to maintain its quality.
